Wrapping up 2021

Thank you for being with us throughout 2021. It was quite a year. I'll post some review stats next week.

One of the interesting things about the approach we take with you is it is a bet on a very long game. This is counter to most societal messaging. Humans, society, business - they all want short-term activity: quick reactions to the social media feed, news updates at the gas pump, an endless stream of dings and dongs to your phone.

So for those of you who are clients, we appreciate the commitment to the long term. Many of you can see that it pays off. Gradually, and in a disciplined way, the snowball compounds. Small percentages of outperformance, where achievable, mushroom into larger and larger numbers.

For Christmas I dug out an old Buffett book of mine and gave it to my daughter (she was not amused, and gave it back). On the book jacket there was a quote:

"Life is like a snowball. All you need is wet snow and a really long hill."
