Pennsylvania Retirement Planning

When it comes to planning and preparing for retirement in Pennsylvania, we want you to know that not all financial advisors are the same. At One Day In July, we stand out from many other firms in a number of key areas which you should consider when choosing who you will work with in planning for your retirement.

  1. When it comes to retirement planning, working with a fee-only fiduciary financial planner is crucial. As fiduciaries, our team of investment advisors are legally obligated to act in the best interest of you, our clients. We have a legal and ethical obligation to provide unbiased advice and recommendations that are in your best interest so you can trust that our advice is objective and tailored to your unique financial situation and goals. Also, unlike many other firms in Pennsylvania, we do not accept commissions or revenue from the funds in which we invest our clients' assets. Read more about what it means to work with a fiduciary here.
  2. We prioritize the use of low-cost and tax-efficient ETF index funds in our investment strategy, with exceptions made only at the client's request. Unfortunately, it is not unusual for new clients in Pennsylvania to come to us with portfolios full of high-fee mutual funds, brokered stocks, annuities, and other costly investments. Index funds have performed well over time and their low cost allows us to keep our fees reasonable and transparent. You can learn more about index funds here.
  3. On the topic of advisory fees, ours are transparent and lower than the industry norm.1 We believe in the importance of keeping fees low so that more of your hard-earned money can compound over time. Unfortunately, high fees are all too common and can make it harder to reach your retirement as planned. Our fees are clearly shared on our website for all to see.
