The worst investing decisions are usually driven by fear or greed. You can't control the market but the market can control you if you let it.
After graduating from the University of Vermont, I moved to Boston to work in accounting and finance at Price Waterhouse and Bain Capital. After a few years, I moved back to Vermont and began a career at Dwight Asset Management in Burlington. When Dwight was purchased by Goldman Sachs in 2012, I stayed on as Managing Director, leading portfolio management for the stable value business. During this time I was also one of the portfolio managers for Goldman's fixed income ETFs.
I have been on the board of directors for the Vermont CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Society for 10 years. I am a CFA Charter holder and also have a CPA License. With the help of my new business partner, Frank Koster, I was introduced to Dan Cunningham and One Day In July.
Keep things as simple and understandable as possible. If you can't understand it, you shouldn't do it. The worst investing decisions are usually driven by fear or greed. You cannot control the market, but the market can control your emotions, if you let it.
I am a board member of Kayla's Directory, a non-profit started by my wife with the mission of providing resources and services to children with special needs in Vermont.
